Planning your project

Interview production from preparation to edit

Our interview films start before the camera is set up. We work with your team to understand the purpose of the conversation and the experience of the person taking part. That informs the question guide, location and pace of the shoot. We prepare contributors for what will happen, then give the conversation room to develop. The aim is a focused, credible voice rather than a collection of rehearsed statements.

A filming setup that supports the conversation

We assess the location for background, sound, light and practical access. Our team coordinates the camera and sound approach around the edit you need, including multiple views where appropriate. Supporting footage is planned as part of the production: a workplace, a process, an object or an interaction can give meaning to a spoken account. Where several contributors take part, we maintain a coherent visual direction across their interviews.

One interview, a useful editorial structure

We review the recorded conversation and build the story around the strongest relevant answers. Your team checks factual detail and sensitive business information at the agreed review stages. Captions, name titles and shorter extracts are scoped around the publishing plan. For a customer-led brief, see testimonial video production; for a wider factual story, explore documentary production.

Your questions, answered.

Can you help contributors who are nervous on camera?

Yes. We explain the process, prepare the themes and guide the conversation on set. We allow appropriate time for contributors to settle into the interview rather than expecting a perfect first answer.

Can interviews be filmed in several locations?

Yes. We coordinate a consistent approach to questions, framing, sound and supporting material across the agreed locations, then bring the interviews together in the edit.

Can you edit an interview we have already filmed?

Yes, where the source footage and sound support the brief. We review the files and permissions, then propose the editorial work and any additional material needed.
